“ My bf told me so much about D',Amato's as he grew up going to the Grand Ave location. His grandfather, Hymie Schwartz & Dad, Charlie were from Savin Rock & knew the family. I am from NYC and have never had better fried seafood than I had today at your place. We had the shrimp & scallops platter with fries, onion rings & coleslaw as well as the fried lobster tails. Never had them before and you guys knocked it all out of the park!!! EVERYTHING is so fresh & delish. You know it's a great establishment when there isn't any lingering odor of seafood in the dining area. Will DEFINITELY recommend to family & friends. We have a place in Narragansett, RI & family up in CT & MA so will be making many stops here throughout the summer & rest of year. And I wish I could've given you a 10 stars review as it is well deserved. Natalie ”
“ Great spot for fried seafood. Friendly service, she recommended the fried shrimp, which was crispy, tasty, and tender— about 6 with the lunch special. Fries were actually potato wedges (yum). Onion rings were lightly breaded more like onion straws. Fried catfish was so flaky and delicate. Tartar sauce was yummy. I didn’t ask my kid how the hot dog was but there was no evidence of it so it must have been good. Chowder was hearty and thick ”
“ My daughter and I visited D'Amato's seafood today. We had the pleasure of having the nicest server named Michael. He should be the poster child for customer service! Michael greeted us with the biggest warm smile. He was so accommodating, and explained the menu with such politeness whenever we asked a question. “ Travel worker here: I’ve been on a quest for years to get a soft shell crab on the east coast and in season. I was driving from Virginia to Vermont on work travel and was able to stop at this gem on a quick detour. The lady on the dine in side was vivacious and helpful! Guy running the counter on the take out side and his crew were on point!!Folks that was one outstanding sandwich...maybe the best I’ve ever eaten. Crab was Crunchy, veggies were fresh, roll was soft and wow the hot sauce/tartar combo was dynamite. If you’re a seafood lover...do yourself a favor and make the detour to here. ”

“ I commute about 30 minutes away every spring/summer just to get my big portions of seafood. I wasn't too fond of their style of preparing the food because it was just seasoned with cracked black pepper and salt. But now that I'm more health conscious, I actually like how fresh it that's without it being over seasoned. It's not a place to really dine in at although they do have benches outside. They offer a lunch special before 2 pm. It can be pretty busy. You may want to get there early since they do shut down and reopen between the hours of 3pm and 5pm in between shift switch. Overall, it's worth your time and money, and I'm never disappointed. This is one of my favorite seafood spots in Connecticut.. ”
